  • Dr Paul Jackson is a Fellow of Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine (UK), Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, and a Fellow of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management.

    Paul has worked as a medical specialist in Sport & Exercise Medicine for more than 30 years. Most of his time has been spent working in high-performance and professional sport. He has vast experience working as chief medical officer and team doctor in a variety of environments and cultures. He has been involved in training, recruitment, and management of doctors who work in this field of medicine.

    He was Deputy Medical Director of the English Institute of Sport (now UK Sports Institute) for 14 years, where he was the lead on coding of injuries and illness and on the diagnosis and management of concussion. He has worked with England Rugby, England Cricket, and British Tennis together with many GB Olympic teams including Modern Pentathlon where he was the Chief Medical Officer for 20 years. He also served on the International Medical Committees for Modern Pentathlon (UIPM) and Bobsleigh and Skeleton (IBSF).

    He was President of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (UK) from 2015–2018 and sat on the council of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges. He had previously been chair of the Faculty Appraisal and Revalidation Committee and was an examiner for the Faculty Membership Examination. He has been an examiner and external examiner for several University masters courses in Sport & Exercise Medicine across the UK.

    Paul was an assessor for Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) for UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) for 8 years and was appointed to the Sport Resolutions National Anti-Doping Panel in April 2024. Sport Resolutions is an independent international dispute resolution service for sport offering arbitration, mediation, tribunal and investigation services.
