Dr. Carly McKay joins Podium Analytics as new Director of Research

    24 September 2024 – Podium Analytics is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Carly McKay as the new Director of Research, effective mid-November.

    Carly is a renowned expert in injury prevention, particularly within youth and grassroots sports. Her extensive background and research experience make her an invaluable addition to the Podium team. A former athlete herself, Carly understands the challenges faced by athletes and is dedicated to fostering their development and safety.

    Dr. McKay holds a degree from the University of Calgary, where she specialised in youth sport injury prevention. Her passion for supporting athletes is evident in her commitment to helping them achieve their goals from an early stage in their sporting journeys. At Podium Analytics, Carly will draw upon her personal experiences and academic expertise to enhance our research initiatives and develop effective strategies for injury prevention.

    Carly will be employed four days a week at Podium while retaining one day for her ongoing role of Reader in Injury Prevention, Department for Health, University of Bath.

    Carly also holds roles as Co-Director of the Centre for Health and Injury and Illness Prevention (Chi2PS) at the University of Bath and Deputy Director of the UK Collaborating Centre on Injury and Illness in Sport (UKCCIIS), which is a partnership between the Universities of Bath and Edinburgh and is recognised as one of the International Olympic Committee Research Centres for Injury Prevention and Protection of Athlete Health.
