NGO and charity committed to reducing injury in sport

Podium Founder, Ron Dennis, awarded a Knighthood in the New Year’s Honours List

  • Congratulations to Ron Dennis, our Founder and Chairman, who has been awarded a Knighthood in the 2023 New Year’s Honours List for his services to industry and to charity.

The Knighthood recognises his impact through Podium Analytics, working to create a world with more sport and less injury, and also his role as founding trustee and co-chairman at Tommy’s, the pregnancy charity, where he has been a patron since 2016.

Previously in 2000, Ron was awarded a CBE in recognition of his services to motorsport – as former Chairman and Chief Executive of McLaren Technology Group, and former chairman of McLaren Automotive.

Andy Hunt, CEO at Podium Analytics, said: “Ron’s vision to use data to deliver real-world change has been a driving force for the team at Podium – his insights, experience and ambition have been invaluable. We are seeing real impact, through our development of on-the-ground solutions and the world-first research being undertaken at the Podium Institute of Youth Sport Technology at the University of Oxford.

"We are delighted his hard work and contributions at Podium, alongside the change he has delivered through his other charitable endeavours, have been recognised with the fitting honour of a Knighthood.”
