England Hockey is the national governing body for the sport in England, responsible for the management and development of hockey from grassroots to elite activities.

England Hockey has a membership comprising over 800 clubs, 45 counties and 8 areas (including the Combined Services) which affiliate to it. Around 155,000 individuals play regularly in the club system with an estimated 15,000 playing at university/college. 800,000 children are playing the sport across 10,000 schools.

Over 15,000 coaches, umpires and officials are supported and developed by England Hockey.

The initial focus on 11-18s, lets us cover junior hockey in clubs and schools, which are two of our largest participant groups. It will be a valuable way to measure the ongoing progress of our work in this area, through our Planning Safe Hockey guidance.
