  • Hockey Wales is the national governing body for hockey in Wales, with 67 clubs and over 7,000 players falling under its purview.

It is responsible for the development, promotion, and administration of the sport at all levels, from grassroots to elite. Hockey Wales aims to inspire participation, nurture talent, and create a positive and inclusive hockey community.

Hockey Wales is the 11th NGB to join the SportSmart programme, in addition to the many schools and clubs that are currently utilising the programme, highlighting its effectiveness in promoting safe and sustainable participation in sport. The collaboration will provide comprehensive support for the wellbeing of youth and grassroots players across the Welsh nation.

  • “We are thrilled to be partnering with SportSmart to enhance the safety and wellbeing of all our athletes. SportSmart will provide invaluable insights and resource to our clubs and ensure a proactive approach to injury prevention and management. We are committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment for our players, and this collaboration is a significant step towards achieving that goal.”
