Beth Tweddle MBE is Britain’s greatest-ever female gymnast, renowned for her uneven bar and floor routines. Her impressive achievements include being an Olympic Bronze Medallist, a triple World Champion, a six-time European Champion, a Commonwealth Champion and seven-times consecutive National Champion.
Throughout her impressive career, Beth experienced numerous injuries that saw her undergo multiple surgeries, pause training and unable to compete in key international competitions, including both the 2006 Commonwealth Games and 2008 Beijing Olympics. Just weeks ahead of the London 2012 Olympics, Beth underwent keyhole knee surgery and still went on to secure bronze medal on the asymmetric bars.
Since retiring in 2013, Beth has grown her business, Beth Tweddle Gymnastics, providing weekly gymnastics to over 7,000 children across the UK, and has become a strong advocate for sport and activity, especially in the under 16s.
She is a lead broadcaster for gymnastics, has also taken part in numerous TV shows, notably winning Dancing on Ice in 2013, and completed degrees at both Liverpool Johns Moores and the University of Liverpool. Beth was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2010 New Year’s Honours list for her success, commitment and dedication to gymnastics.
