  • “At Mill Hill we are committed to excellence, whether this be in the classroom or out on the training field. Working in partnership with Podium will allow us to track, monitor and support our pupils through injury, ensuring we can develop our best practice and keep players safe. This partnership will help to strengthen our sports pedigree, granting further insight into the safety of our pupils, and creating a safer world of sport so that our pupils can enjoy it for a lifetime.”

  • Mill Hill School is at the heart of a Foundation dating back to 1807, which also includes our Pre-Prep, Grimsdell; our Prep, Belmont, The Mount, Mill Hill International and our most recent addition, Cobham Hall School, Kent. At Mill Hill, pupils are supported in their personal development and encouraged to make the most of their abilities and interest, both inside and outside the classroom.

Our motto, et virtutem et musas, which we have recently styled as instilling values, inspiring minds, reflects these aims whilst also celebrating our heritage and our commitment to preparing our pupils for the future. We encourage them to live for the moment and to embrace the many opportunities which Mill Hill provides.

Our schools based in Mill Hill are co-educational at all entry points, and from 13+ we also offer the options of weekly or full boarding. Set in over 150 acres of beautiful grounds, the schools occupy an enviable location just a short tube ride from central London, and we believe that the fresh air and open space which we enjoy enhances the Mill Hill experience for pupils and staff alike. We are a happy school, with a spring in its step; as much a family as a community. You are warmly invited to one of our Open Mornings or to a personal visit so that you can find out for yourself what makes Mill Hill special.

At Mill Hill, every pupil, regardless of physical ability, is encouraged to participate in competitive and non-competitive sports. The range of opportunities offered, whether academic, creative or sporting, allow pupils to build character and resilience, qualities that will serve them well in the classroom, in sport and in later life.

Mill Hill School has an established reputation for sporting excellence and continues to be one of the country’s leading sporting schools. Every pupil at Mill Hill has the opportunity to represent their school, to experience the exhilaration of a hard-fought victory and the heartbreak of a narrow loss.

Our sports facilities are extensive and impressive. In addition to 120 acres of grounds, our new sports complex allows us to provide unparalleled opportunities for Millhillians to learn using cutting-edge technology and world-class equipment. The complex incorporates a sports hall, a strength training gym, a high intensity workout space and a flexible studio space, which include spin bikes, HD projector screen and sound system playing digital classes, including the latest Les Mills content. We can also boast a floodlit AstroTurf, 25-metre swimming pool, three fives courts, six outdoor tennis courts, four netball courts, an indoor golf teaching suite incorporating golf simulator, outdoor golf centre, and numerous cricket, football and rugby pitches on our 120-acre site.

Through our continued commitment to delivering an outstanding coaching provision, we have a portfolio of partnerships with professional clubs and coaches across many of our sports. Our full-time coaches include an England and Mavericks netball player, two Saracens premiership rugby players, a Middlesex County Cricket Coach, Tottenham Hotspur premiership academy coaches, a Great Britain hockey coach, an international hockey player, a Great Britain athlete and a PGA advanced golf pro. Our professional club partnerships also include Saracens Rugby, Middlesex Cricket, Hampstead & Westminster Hockey Club and Tottenham Hotspur F.C. Each partnership helps to us to strengthen our coaching pedigree and allows world-class players and coaches to join us for training and games afternoons, working with pupils of all abilities.

  • In summer 2021, we were lucky enough to have two members of Mill Hill School staff head to Tokyo for the Olympics and Paralympics, our Physiotherapist Maria Goriup who travelled with a Team GB Fencing athlete for the Olympics, and a Japanese Fencing athlete for the Paralympics, and our Head of Hockey Kwan Browne who is the Assistant Coach to the GB Men’s Hockey Team. As a school we recognise the enormity and privilege of having two members of our team with such incredible experience on the international sporting scene, and the benefits they can bring to our sport teaching provision.

Our Director of Sport at Mill Hill School, Aaron Liffchak, commented: "Everyone at Mill Hill School is absolutely delighted for both Maria and Kwan, we are immensely proud of all their achievements and have thoroughly enjoyed watching the Hockey and Fencing throughout the summer. They are both fantastic ambassadors and role models for our Mill Hill community, inspiring us all with their determination, perseverance, and resilience. The recruitment of Maria and Kwan are part of our continued commitment to delivering an outstanding coaching provision and drive for pupil progression. The experience they are both able to offer our pupils is truly unique."

For our most able pupils we run an innovative Sports Scholarship programme, designed for top performers who have a genuine belief that they can attain sporting excellence. The programme is one of our sports department’s proudest developments, and unique in its field. Sports Scholars have access to our Performance Department, including a full time Great Britain Olympic Physiotherapist, Performance Nutritionist, Mental Skills Coach and two professional Strength & Conditioning Coaches.

"I’m getting to do that I love and for a lot of people my age their dreams don’t become a reality. To get an opportunity to work with the calibre of staff within the programme from professional sporting backgrounds is amazing: I have to pinch myself every morning." Mathew, Sixth Form Sports Scholar.

"Being a Mill Hill Sports Scholar is tiring and a lot of hard work, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. Through the Scholarship Programme I have learnt everything from how to become more powerful to how to cook my own recipes and meal plans." Floren, Remove Sports Scholar.
