  • At Sherborne Girls, we believe that education forms our habits. It shapes our values and our beliefs, preparing us for the future and steering us on our way. That is why we are committed to providing an outstanding education to every girl in our community, helping her write the story of her life.

Every pupil is welcomed into a friendly and compassionate full-boarding environment where her individual strengths, talents and interests are nurtured.

Developing an understanding and appreciation of the health related benefits associated with physical activity and a healthy lifestyle is very important at Sherborne Girls. The school offers many opportunities for the girls to participate in a wide variety of fitness activities and classes. These classes include boxercise, zumba, yoga, spinning, body balance, ballet, street dance, pilates, bouldering and more.

A comprehensive competitive sports programme is also offered which utilises the schools excellent sporting facilities which include a 25m six lane swimming pool, 2 squash courts, 27 tennis courts (including grass courts), a newly surfaced floodlit astro pitch, newly surfaced grassed lacrosse pitches, climbing and bouldering walls, a superbly equipped fitness suite and a high performance gym. All of these facilities are located on site and as full members of the Oxley Sports Centre girls have access to the facilities throughout the day, evening and weekend.

The school has an enviable reputation in lacrosse, hockey and cross-country and the popularity of netball is growing rapidly. The number of girls representing the school in each of these sports is increasing and you will regularly see more than 300 girls playing competitive sport each week.
